We had the opportunity to meet with Scott Heiferman and Douglas Atkin, from Meetup. Scott is the CEO and co-founder, and Douglas is the Chief Community Officer. They were in Washington D.C. this month to meet with some of the meetup organizers, and after the meeting we did a quick interview.

In the interview, Scott & Douglas talked about how & why Meetup started, and some of the background & intentions of their new Meetup Alliance.

Meetup logo Meetup was started in 2002, and now has about 5 million members, organized into groups that are linked to thousands of topics.
